David Lough
Chairman

 

After graduating from Oxford University in History and Modern Languages, David specialised in shipping and then international investment banking, spending some time in Japan, Hong Kong and Australia, before becoming a Managing Director of County Natwest Investment Bank.
 
He joined Cripps Harries Hall in 1988 in a joint venture that has since evolved into Heartwood. David was first Director and then Managing Director of Cripps Harries Hall's Finance and Investment Services Division. On demerger from Cripps Harries Hall in late 2001, David was appointed Chief Executive of Cripps Portfolio, which rebranded as Heartwood Wealth Management after a successful management buy-out in December 2005. Following the 20-year anniversary of Heartwood, David became Chairman in March 2009.

David has provided investment and financial advice to private clients and their families for many years. David founded and was Chairman of the Association of Solicitors Investment Managers in 1993-1996. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and a member of its Wealth Management Committee. He is also a member of the Financial Services Forum's Wealth Management Committee. 

David is past chairman of the Temple Grove Schools Trust, a trustee of the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation Trust, Beckett's Trust Housing Association Ltd., the Skyrme Hart Charitable trust and of the Friends of Penshurst Church. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Charinco and Charishare. David is currently researching and writing a series of books on previous Prime Ministers and their private wealth.
